Going Right Font Review

There I was, tracing the edges of a candle label with my Cricut, trying to find the perfect font that felt as whimsical as the handmade soy candles I was selling. That’s when I discovered Going Right—a display font that feels like a burst of color and energy on any project. As a maker who values both creativity and clarity, I was eager to test it across different materials and see how it performed in real-world scenarios.

Going Right for Candle Labels and Boutique Packaging

Going Right is a display font that brings a retro, psychedelic vibe to any design. Its hand-drawn charm makes it ideal for candle labels, where visual appeal can make or break a product. I used it on a series of soy candle labels, and the result was stunning—each label felt like a mini work of art. The font’s curves and flourishes added a playful touch without overwhelming the text. For boutique packaging, Going Right elevates the overall aesthetic, making products stand out on shelves or in online listings.

When working with small labels, I found that the font maintains its legibility even at smaller sizes. However, it’s best suited for short phrases rather than long descriptions. For example, using it for the candle scent name or a tagline worked perfectly, but I wouldn’t recommend it for detailed ingredient lists or instructions.

Going Right for Greeting Cards and Wedding Invitations

One of my favorite uses for Going Right has been in greeting cards and wedding invitations. Its vibrant personality adds a sense of fun and nostalgia that resonates well with modern and vintage audiences alike. I created a set of birthday cards with the font as the main headline, and the effect was eye-catching and memorable. The font pairs beautifully with simple backgrounds, allowing it to shine without competing with other design elements.

For wedding stationery, Going Right works especially well for titles, welcome signs, and decorative wording. It adds a unique flair that stands out from more traditional serif or sans serif fonts. I paired it with a clean, minimalist sans serif for the body text, which helped balance the boldness of Going Right while maintaining readability.

Going Right for Digital Printables and Wall Art

As a printable creator, I often look for fonts that can be used across multiple formats without losing their visual impact. Going Right fits the bill perfectly. I designed a set of printable wall art with the font as the central element, and the results were impressive. Whether printed on canvas, framed, or used as digital backgrounds, the font retains its vibrancy and character.

For digital printables, I found that Going Right works well in both high-resolution and web-friendly formats. It’s also great for social media graphics, where bold and colorful typography can grab attention quickly. When used in mockups or listing images, the font helps convey the creative spirit of the product, making it more appealing to potential buyers.

Going Right for Tote Bags and Merchandise

I tested Going Right on a series of tote bags, where it made a strong visual statement. The font’s dynamic shapes and lively strokes translated well onto fabric, adding a sense of movement and energy. It worked especially well for slogans, band names, or personalized messages that needed to stand out.

On shirts and mugs, the font looked equally good, though I noticed that some of the finer details could get lost in smaller print sizes. For larger designs, such as full-front prints or large banners, Going Right is a fantastic choice. It’s important to check the font’s scalability and ensure that it remains readable at different sizes before finalizing any merchandise design.

Going Right for Seasonal and Holiday Designs

During the holiday season, I used Going Right for a set of festive tags and gift wrap designs. The font’s retro style gave the projects a nostalgic feel that aligned perfectly with the theme. Whether used for Christmas, Halloween, or Easter, Going Right adds a whimsical touch that feels fresh and original.

For seasonal products, the font’s versatility shines through. It can be used for titles, captions, or decorative elements, making it a valuable addition to any creative toolkit. I found that pairing it with a simple script font for additional text helped create a layered, cohesive look without overwhelming the design.
